Donna Evelyn Davey Acosta, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away of natural causes on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Landmark of Baton Rouge. She was 84 years old and a native of Detroit.

She was a secretary for several State of Louisiana agencies ending her career at the Department of Natural Resources. We have a little less sunshine in our lives now that she is gone. We know heaven has never shined so brightly with Mom singing with a host of angels in her eternal home. Mother greeted everyone with a sweet smile that will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvest "Rocky" Acosta, her son Ronny Acosta, and daughter Diane Acosta; her mother Evelyn Kelly Davey, her father Burr Davey, three brothers Alan Davey, George Davey, and David Davey; her son-in law Michael D. O'Neal.

She is survived by daughters Lynn Acosta Bondurant and her husband Albert W. Bondurant, Carol Acosta, Denise Acosta O'Neal-Soileau and her husband Robert J. Soileau and son Alan Acosta; eight grandchildren, Heather Oneillion, Derek Acosta, Chelsea Payne and her husband Jason Payne, A. William Bondurant, Katherine Bondurant, Daniel Bondurant, Drake Bondurant, Veronica Acosta, Riley O'Neal and six great grandchildren, Haddon Ontiverous, Grayson Boudreaux, Addyson Payne, Nevaeh Oliphant, Lillian Bondurant, and Veda Hebert.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the Greenoaks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
