Mrs. Agnes R. Brown, also known as Minnie Davis, age 76, of Newark, DE, died on Friday, December 25, 2009, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Wilmington on October 7, 1933, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Edward J. Davis and Virginia Zukowski Davis. She was employed as a hostess with the Ramada Inn for many years. A talented seamstress, Mrs. Brown was adept at making many types of interesting crafts. She also enjoyed shopping, collecting a variety of favorite treasures, and spending time with her family. She endeared herself to family and friends with her catchphrase "I'm gonna."
Her husband, Francis Brown, died in 1984. She is survived by her children, Florence B. McFayden (Richard) of Fayetteville, NC; Deborah J. Kamermans (Paul Sanderson) of Newark, DE; Kathleen Sullivan of Satellite Beach, FL; and Joseph R. Bailiff of New Hope, PA; family friend, James E. Pope; sister, Rita Copeland of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Gary, Tracey, Danielle, and David; and 13 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, on Wednesday, December 30, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, 1901 Rockland Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
