Born in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., on April 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Lasher) and Nathan Plass.
She was a resident of Delaware for 53 years. In the 1960's, she served in the Delaware Legislature as Assistant Chief of Clerk of the House of Representatives, a position she was proud to hold. For 20 years she devoted her career to nursing. Mrs. Davis loved gardening, reading, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, involved in Hope Keepers and the Old Ladies Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Austin E. Davis; a son, Michael; two grandsons; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Kim and David Yoder of Golts; a loving son, Charles Duff of Florida and his former wife Sandra Duff of Florida; four grandsons, Billy Allgeier and his fiance Callie of Golts, Chris Allgeier and his wife Tracy of Golts, Shawn and David Duff of Florida; her former husband, Charles Duff; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 24at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown. Mrs. Davis was laid to rest beside her husband at Townsend Cemetery, Townsend.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Michelene T. Davis Memorial Fund c/o Mercantile Eastern Shore Bank, P. O. Box 106, Galena, MD 21635-0106.
