Elaine was born August 29, 1920 to Everette and Vera (Henry) Davis in Grant City, MO. She was educated at country school in Iowa. On February 11, 1939 Elaine married John Casey in Cumberland, IA. After their marriage they farmed together in Iowa until 1960 when they moved to the family farm in Forbes, ND. They farmed together in Forbes until John’s death in 1982.
Elaine continued to reside in Forbes while enjoying gardening, sewing, embroidering and baking for friends and family. She was a member of St. Helena’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Elaine is survived by her sons: Tom (Jann) Casey, Steve Casey, Ronald Casey, Douglas (Marilyn) Casey, Murray Casey, Martin (Becky) Casey; daughters: Patricia (Larry) Berreth, Jean (Roger) Gunderson, Linda (Christ) Gross; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, one son Lawrence, one daughter Janet, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11am Tuesday, October 4 at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, Ellendale with Father Jason Asselin officiating. A Rosary will be at 10:30am Tuesday at the church. Visitation is 9:30am to 11am on Tuesday. Burial is at St. Helena’s Church Cemetery.
