She had many cousins, aunts, uncles that she loved dearly along with close friends; Lynn Garmon, Debby McLemore, Sylvia Capps, Judy Creekmore, Kim Garner, Joni Henegar, Betty Patton and her earthly angel, Sherry Rochat.
Jan was born in Paducah, KY on November 4, 1952. She is the daughter of Mr. Ray J. Dawes and Mrs. Charlene Heath Dawes. She attended University of Kentucky and graduated with an B.A. degree in education and M.A. degree in early childhood. When it came to basketball her blood ran “Wildcat Blue”. She also had Vanderbilt men’s basketball tickets for over 25 years. She loved both her Cat’s and the Commodores.
Mrs. Anderson taught school for 32 years in Sumner County. She always called each class her kids and still continued after she retired. She loved teaching her students and seeing them blossom into outstanding adults. Many continued to stay in touch with her through the years. She always enjoyed hearing from them.
Kenneth Taylor Anderson (Ken) was truly the love of her life. He was her best friend, constant partner, and always her safe spot. She always said her joyous life began the day she met him. It was a marriage made in heaven. She prayed to God and he sent Ken.
Jan’s visitation will be held at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 4 p.m. until a 7 p.m. service with Bro. David Royalty.
A 1 p.m. graveside service will be held the following afternoon at Briensburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton, KY with Rev. Mike Hunt officiating.
