Patsy (Dawes) Amerson, 84, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016. She was born March 23, 1931, in Hertford, NC; the daughter of the late Les and Fannie Mae Dawes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Amerson. She is survived by her son, Bobby (Marilyn) Amerson of Callaway; and former daughter-in-law, Barbara (Raymond) Pittman of Wilson, N.C.; grandsons, Robbie (Joddy) Amerson of Nashville, N.C., and Jarrett (Emily) Amerson of Rocky Mount; as well as four great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Maggie Amerson of Nashville, N.C., and Ean and Conner Amerson of Rocky Mount. She also leaves behind two sisters, Peggy Brantly (Short) and Barbara Ruth (Milton) both of Bailey, N.C.
Pat was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, a tireless worker, and a talented seamstress who shared her smile and kind spirit with everyone she met.
ARRANGEMENTS:
Graveside services will be held at 11 am at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, N.C. The family will receive friends Monday, March 21, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shingleton Funeral Home.
The family wishes to thank the administration and staff at Wilson House and 3 HC Hospice for their kindness and care.
