Donald grew up in Arvada and served four years in the Navy. After his Honorable Discharge, he began farming in Weld County. He married Verda in Keenesburg in 1948, and they moved to Brighton in 1953. He worked as a heavy equipment operator on numerous projects, including Million Dollar Highway between Silverton and Ouray and I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. In retirement, he enjoyed trips to Las Vegas as well as the occasional trip “up the Hill” to Blackhawk. Preceding were brother Paul and sister Bernice. Survivors included: sons Michael and Curt (Lisa); eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister May; and brother James Lee. Funeral Services held October 12th at Brighton United Methodist Church, 625 S. 8th Ave. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.
