Antoinette L. Capelli, 87, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully Friday at her home.
Born in Hammonton, NJ, Mrs. Capelli was a life long resident and member of St. Martin de Porres Parish, where she had also worked for 25 years and was active in the church choir. She was a graduate of Hammonton High School, Class of 1937 and served on the PTA. She was President Emeritus of the Hammonton Band Booster Club, the recipient of their Honorary Life Membership, and assisted with fundraising for the House of Charity of the Camden Diocese, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Antoinette enjoyed cooking, visiting, and going to lunch with family and friends, and was always there in their time of need. She enjoyed playing pinochle and solving crossword puzzles.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline (Meglino) DeCicco, wife of the late Thomas Capelli, to whom she was married for 45 years, and sister of the late Salvatore (infant), Salvatore, and Joseph DeCicco; she is survived by her children, Thomas G. Capelli and his wife Lynne, Donald J. Capelli and his wife Mimi S., Anita L. Galletta and her husband Arthur J., and Carol A. Capelli; her grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher T. and Linda K. Capelli, Thomas G. II, MD and Kristin N. Capelli, Beth A. and Christopher P. DiMeglio, Laurie L. Capelli, Jason D. , Dana S., and Alison L. Capelli, and Joyce L. and John A. Galletta; her great-grandchildren, Anthony C. and Gianna E. DiMeglio, and Thomas G. III and Chase N. Capelli; two brothers, Samuel DeCicco, and Albert DeCicco; a sister, Caroline Byrne; two sisters-in-law, Geneva DeCicco, and Sarah DeCicco; a brother-in-law Joseph and his wife Anna Capelli; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The Funeral will begin 10:30am Tuesday at CARNESALE FUNERAL HOME, 202 South Third Street, Hammonton, NJ. 08037. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30am from St. Martin de Porres Parish, 129 Park Ave., Hammonton, NJ 08037. Interment will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton, NJ. Family and friends may call 6:30-8:30pm Monday at the funeral home.
