A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late James D. Lyda and Ella Fair Lyda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Leon Rhymer; second husband, James Dermid; four brothers, Harold, James, Gaither and Jess Lyda; and two sisters, Emmie Lyda and Narrie Dill.
She was employed by Jefferson Smurfit Corp. before retiring in 1988.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Judy Gann and her husband, Steve; a sister, Dorothy McCraw; a grandson, Anthony Rhymer; two special great-grandchildren, Casey Rhymer and Whitney Rhymer; a dear sister-in-law, Marie Lyda; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Moore's Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Warren officiating.
