Theresa A. Amberg Chattaway, 71, of Milford, Pa., passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, surrounded by her family, at the Barn Hill Care Center, in Newton.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, on Oct. 14, 1941, she was a retired assistant at Dr. Serniuk’s office, Newton. Theresa was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, a founder and member of the St. Vincent Stitchers, and was a member of the Delaware Township and Dingmans Ferry Historical Society.
Theresa was predeceased by her first husband, John Amberg, and her second husband, George Chattaway. She was also predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Amberg, and her brother, Patrick Desmond.
Survivors include her daughter Karen Amberg Ruzycki of Sparta; son Raymond Chattaway of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; three sisters, Elaine Mohr and Laura Nixon of Ohio and Kitty Powell of South Carolina; one brother, Timothy Desmond of Ohio; and four grandchildren, Meghan Lois and Bridget Adelle Ruzycki and George and Nicole Chattaway.
Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St. Milford, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Milford, Pa., on Thursday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Mullen officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made in Theresa’s honor to the St. Vincent Sharing Fund, 101 St. Vincent Drive, Milford, PA 18337.
