Hope Delores Bailey, age 94 of Sterling, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Regency Care of Sterling.

Hope was born on September 1, 1922 in Rock Falls, the daughter of William and Anna (Mickelson) Desmond. She married Benjamin Franklin Bailey on June 12, 1948 in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2011. She was a beautician for over 50 years. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Hope was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sterling and the Mary Ruth prayer circle.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Alan) Burkett of Morrison; her son Don (Grace) Bailey of Rockford; seven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one sister, June Tousley.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. Memorial service will follow at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Brad Wilson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Sterling, officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Sterling and Vitas Hospice.
