MRS. DEUSTER DIES WHILE VISITING AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
Funeral Services to Be conducted at Cathedral Tuesday Morning
Mrs. James L. Deuster, 76, lifelong resident of Green Bay, died Saturday afternoon in a Fond du Lac hospital, following an operation. She was spending the summer in fond du Lac with her daughter, Mrs. Cal Burnton, when she became ill and was removed to the hospital, but her home was at 700 Crooks St., this city.
Before her marriage Mrs. Deuster was Anna Lenz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lenz, who were proprietors of one of the first hotels in Green Bay, the Green Bay House. She was born in this hotel, located on the present site of the City Center building at Adams and Cherry St., Sept. 19, 1859, and was married at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in 1880.
Mrs. Deuster is survived by eight children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The children are Louis, fond du Lac, Frank, bob, Carl, Joseph and Mrs. Joseph Bittner, Green Bay, Mrs. Burnton of fond du Lac and Leonard of York, Penn.
The body was brought to Schauer and Schumacher's from Fond du Lac and removed to her home at 700 Crooks St. funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral with burial in Allouez cemetery. St. Ann's society of the Cathedral will meet at the residence this evening at 8 o'clock to say the rosary.
