Joannes Salesman Dies In Hospital
Edward F. Deuster, 53, for the last 25 years a salesman for Joannes Brothers company, died at 5 o'clock this morning in a local hospital after an illness of two years.
Son of the late Henry Deuster and of Catherine Bender Deuster, who survives him, he entered the employ of the Joannes firm 39 years ago, when he was a boy of 14, and had worked there continuously until forced to retire because of illness. Fourteen years after starting work he was made a salesman, covering northern Wisconsin points.
Besides his mother, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joseph Himmelspach, and four nieces and nephews, Katharine, Joseph, Arthur and Bernadine Himmelspach, all of Milwaukee. He was a member of Green Bay lodge, B.P.O. Elks.
The body was removed to the Mohr funeral home, where it will remain until Monday morning, when funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral with burial in Allouez. The rev. Georg Schemmer, Cathedral pastor, will be in charge, and also will recite the rosary at the funeral home Sunday evening.
Pallbearers will be fellow employees of Joannes Brothers Company; W.C. Grimmer, C.P. De Witt, Alex Renard, Tom Ryan, Herman Forst and William Panure. Harold V. Joannes, president of the firm, expressed deep regret at his death, declaring him an "outstanding salesman, whose loss will be felt."
