husband of Elizabeth Devoy (nee Catharell), of., Seacombe, Cheshire.
Born at Seacombe, Cheshire,

SS Barrister, built by Russell & Co., Port Glasgow in 1916 .....was a British steamer of 4.952 tons.
On September 19th, 1918, Barrister, on a voyage from Glasgow & Liverpool to West Indies with general cargo and mails, was sunk by the German submarine UB-64 (Ernst Krieger), 9 miles W1/2N of the Chicken Rock lighthouse, southwest of Isle of Man. 30 persons were lost. (Jan Lettens)
