Scott "Tyler" DeWert, 24, died unexpectedly Friday July 31, 2015.

As everyone who knew Scott, knows he was easy going, free spirited, lived life to the fullest, and had the smile that made everyone else smile.

Scott is survived by his mother Mary Cay Heeg and his father Kenneth DeWert; his stepfather Joseph Heeg, Sr. and his stepmother Angelique DeWert; his brothers Sean and Trey DeWert; step-brothers Joseph Heeg, Jr., Kyle and Taylor Hightower; step-sisters Natalie Heeg and Alaina Hightower; nephews Joseph Heeg, III, Jamison Heeg, and Caiden DeWert; niece Gabriella Heeg; maternal grandparents Doris D'Haeseleer and Walter D'Haeseleer (Jeanne D'Haeseleer); paternal grandfather William DeWert; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins and all of Scott's friends which were family to him.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Mable Joan DeWert.

Scott was born in Beaufort, South Carolina and moved to Tallahassee when he was 6 years old, and attended DeSoto Trail Elementary School, Deerlake Middle School, and graduated from SAIL High School.
Scott was working at Andrew's assisting with catering. He had several talents, of which many were related to being outside. Scott had a great passion towards life, nature, his dog Fenrir and his bike.
Scott's family will receive friends Wednesday August 5th 6-8 pm in the Capital Room of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road location.

Funeral services will be 10:00am, Thursday, August 6th at St. Thomas More Co-Cathedral Church, Tallahassee, FL.

In lieu of flowers or donations, Scott would have liked to have family and friends perform an "Act of Kindness" for someone in need.
