She married twice, first to William Richter c. 1889. In 1910 she was working as a live-in housekeeper for the Anderson Deiwert family. Her children were with her, but her husband was not in attendance. She had had 6 children, 3 living at that time:

- Joseph Richter, b. 1895
- Alfred Richter, b. 1903.
She remarried with Anderson Deiwert on August 9, 1910, in Clermont County, Ohio. They had one child together, Elmer Deiwert, b. 1911.
