Annette Delmas was the daughter of Napolean George Benoist Delmas and Harriet Betroit. George Delmas ran the City Bakery with a building on Jefferson and a bread cart. According to a Succession Sale notice in 1897, he died sometime late spring of the same year. Sadly, his daughter died not too long after.

Annette Delmas Dezendorf died shortly after the birth of her daughter, Rita. [Rita is referred to in the obituary as a bright baby boy, however, a birth announcement reported her as a female baby.] The Board of Health listed the cause of Annette's death as puerperal eclampsia. Her husband James moved back to Natchitoches so he and his mother could care for Rita. He dropped dead at the age of 40 in 1912 while building the Methodist Church in Natchitoches.
