Cemetery records state that Adrian Charles Dickens and his wife Bertha Dickens are buried in this Prairie Repose Cemetery, but no gravestones for them were found on an August 2015 visit.

Adrian Charles Dickens' father, Augustus Newnham Dickens, was a younger brother of the English author Charles Dickens, who came from England to Amboy, Illinois about 1858, so Adrian Dickens was likely born in Amboy, and census records state that he was born in Illinois. Within a few years of his arrival at Amboy, Augustus Dickens and his wife Bertha Dickens moved to Chicago, Illinois, where Augustus Dickens died in 1866 and Bertha Dickens died in 1868, leaving Adrian Dickens and his brother and sister orphaned. The 1870 census of Amboy, Illinois lists Adrian Dickens, age 9 years, living in the household of Dr. Edmund R. Travers. This appears to be the Edmund Roche Travers who is buried in this Prairie Repose Cemetery with his wife and family members (see Findagrave memorial #151026024). A childhood spent in Amboy may be the reason Adrian Dickens chose to be buried in Amboy.

At the 1900 and 1930 censuses, Adrian Dickens lived in Chicago and worked for a railroad. At the time of his death, he was a conductor for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Adrian and his wife Bertha Dickens had three sons and one daughter, three of whom lived to adulthood. Their children were as shown below.

1. Earl O. Dickens, born February 21 1891 at Amboy, Illinois. He married Edythe E. Fitzer on September 19, 1912 in Chicago. They lived in Chicago, Illinois and had at least two children, L'Donna Dickens born about 1924 in Illinois and Earl O. Dickens, Jr., born about October 9, 1929 in Cook County, Illinois. He died on December 1, 1953 in Alachua, Florida. Burial location unknown.

2. Harold Bertram Dickens, born September 27 1893 at Amboy, Illinois. He lived in Chicago, Illinois in 1920 and 1930. On September 30, 1933 he married Marjorie M. Ray in Des Moines, Iowa. and he was still living in Des Moines, Iowa in 1940. He died when his car was struck by a semi truck on March 20, 1971 at around 4:30 a.m. near Coralville, Iowa. He was residing in Des Moines, Iowa at the time of his death. The link to his burial location is below.

3. Marshall Sherman Dickens, born May 1898 in Cook County, Illinois, probably in Chicago. He died August 9, 1901 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois; his death certificate listed his burial place as Amboy, Illinois. He is buried in this cemetery, and the link to his memorial is below.

4. Leela [Dickens] Schweder, born May 23, 1901 in Cook County, Illinois. She was living in Chicago with her parents and brother Harold in 1920. She married Edmund Woland Schweder on October 16, 1920 in LaPorte, Indiana. She died on October 6, 1975 in Lexington, Kentucky. The link to her burial location is below. They had three children: Warren M., John W., and Daniel D. Schweder.
