Her father was James Dillard born 1760 North Carolina - died April 4, 1839 in Elbert County,Georgia.

James Dillard and Sarah Vernan were married
in 1788 by Rev. John Nieman.

Sarah Vernan's parents were
James and Elinor ____ Vernan.

James Dillard served as a Revolutionary Soldier as Private in North Carolina. Period of service 12 months.
He left service May 9, 1782.

Family lore say that Mary V. Almand married James or John Peek. No record of this marriage has been found. The marriage may well have been performed by her son
Rev. Wm. D. Almand and that he did not record this.

On the 1840 Newton County Census she is listed as Mary V. Alman.

But on both the 1850 and 1860 Newton County, Georgia Census she is listed as Mary V. Peek age 54/64 living with her son
Rev. W. D. Almand and his family. So we know that sometime in the 1840s she married ___ Peek.
