EAST LONGMEADOW - Diane A. Crapps, 62, of Springfield, departed this life on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Redstone Nursing Center. Born in Springfield, she was a daughter of Robert A. Dixon Sr. and Julia M. (Pickett) Dixon. Mrs. Crapps graduated from Springfield schools and had been employed at Mercy Medical Center for 22 years. Pre-deceased by her husband, Bobby L. Crapps Sr. last month, and by her parents, she leaves behind two sons, Bobby L. Crapps Jr. (and Etta) and Mark D. Crapps (and Marissa), both of Springfield; a daughter, Sonya M. Crapps of Springfield; four brothers, Rev. Alfonzo Dixon Sr. of Rock Hill, SC, and Rev. Leroy Dixon, Michael Dixon, and Theodore Dixon, all of Springfield; five sisters, Essie Crapps, Eavon Dixon, Roberta Wanzo, Jewell Shaver, and Debra Lewis, all of Springfield; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins to mourn her passing. The calling hour is 9-10 a.m. Friday at Mission Church, 20 Bowdoin Terrace, followed by the funeral at 10, with burial in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Agawam. Harrell Funeral Home is in charge.
