Pearl St., Jerseyville on Thursday, Dec 6 at St Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Patrick Morrow as concelebrant. Burial was at St Francis Cemetery. Mrs Allen was born July 13, 1897 in Jerseyville, the daughter of the late James and Bridget Kiely Dolan. She died at 8:40 a.m. Dec 3 at the Friendship Nursing Home in Carlinville. Mrs Allen was a teacher in the Jersey County Catholic Schools for over 50 years. She married Francis Allen on Sept 15, 1945 and he died Sept 18, 1970. She is survived by a nephew, James A. Dolan, Jerseyville; two nieces, Margaret Ann Beane and Mary Neal Griffith, both of Carlinville; six great-nephews and two great-nieces. Jacoby Brothers Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. The Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12.
