Death claimed one of Magee's most beloved citizens in the death of Mrs. Nancy Allen, who died at the home of her son, Ben Allen, after an illness of several years. Mrs. Allen was 82 years of age and represented the pioneer citizens of this community. Mrs. Allen had been an invalid at her son's home for the past fifteen years, and most of this time was confined to her bed. Funeral services were conducted from the Sharon Presbyterian church, with the Rev. D. W. Moulder of Sylvarena officiating. Mr. Moulder was assisted by the Rev. L. W. Ferrell, pastor of the Magee Baptist church. Interment was in the Sharon cemetery, where her husband was interred several years ago.
Mrs. Allen Is survived by 49 relatives, most of whom live in this community; four sons, Benson Allen, Ben Allen, Tom Allen, and Preston Allen, all of Magee; four daughters, Mrs. P. H. Buffington, Mrs. Dallas Kennedy, Mrs. T. M. Puckett, Sr., of Magee, and Mrs. Will Merchant of Flora. The other relatives who survive her include six great grand children, an 35 grand children. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
