Arlie Dale Donley, 79 of Beckley died Monday August 28, 2017, following an extended illness. Born February 9, 1938, in Abney, he was the son of the late Dan Donley (1904-Deceased) and Eula Gibbony Corder-Donley (1903-Deceased). He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Donley (Deceased).
Mr. Donley was a retired coal miner having worked most of his career at Slab Fork and he was a member of the UMWA. He was also a very active member of the Bible Baptist Church in MacArthur where he previously taught Sunday School and was very active in the churches John in Roman ministry.
Mr. Donley is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Patricia Ann Fink-Donley (B. 1939) whom he married on January 19, 1962 in MacArthur, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1962, Page 416, Application Date: January 15, 1962); a sister, Jean Donley-Koehs; brothers-in-law James Fink and wife Annabelle Fink, and Gary Fink and wife Patricia Fink; many cousins, including Rick, Phyllis and Lisa Corder and Jim and Fred Souk; several nieces and nephews; and by a host of close friends and church family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday August 31, 2017, at 12:00 noon in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Thomas Shepard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
