Marguerite C. "Maggie" (Myers) Drillon, 95, of Chillicothe died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at Heartland Manor Care in Peoria, Ill.

She was born on July 6, 1916, in Delavan, Ill., the daughter of Arthur and Kathryn (White) Myers. She married Franklin E. Drillon on Valentine's Day in 1939. He preceded her in death in August of 1969.

Marguerite lived most of her 95 wonderful years in Chillicothe, where she worked for Mannering's Men's Wear and the Dolph House, and in Peoria at the Willow Nook Gift Shop. She was an art teacher and self-employed artist and crafter and spent many joyful hours in her woodworking shop and painting studio.

Maggie provided many memories to her friends and family with her personal painting trademarks of grapes, roses and ladybugs.

She was a communicant and active member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and a member of Pearce Community Center.

Surviving are her children, Ann (Gary) Thompson of Olympia, Wash., Betsy (Rick Harney) Drillon of Normal, Ill., and Emile (Marian) Drillon of Thomaston, Conn.; and son-in-law, Fred Grimm of Peoria, Ill.; her grandchildren, Kelly (Robert) Ruther, James Grimm, Frank (Jennifer) Grimm, Theresa Ragusa Jones, Anthony Ragusa, Benjamin Harney, Parker (Lauren) Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Miriel Thompson, Amanda (Jeremy) De Vault, Antone Drillon and Allison Snow; and her great-grandchildren, Andrew Huskey, Joshua Huskey, Abigail Ruther, Addison Grimm, Delaney Grimm, Hannah Grimm, Tyler Grimm and Lucy Thompson; in addition to many nieces and nephews.

Maggie's life was especially blessed with her dearest friends, Lucy Mundy, Dale and Lucille Pope, Deborah Breen, Gloria Duvall and the Goebel family, all of Chillicothe, and Jeanette Mariani of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, including Gail "Mike" F. Myers of Chillicothe; two sisters; and daughter, Kathy Grimm.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial Mass will be held under the direction of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1216 N. Sixth St., Chillicothe. The Rev. Keith Walder will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A private interment will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Macular Degeneration Association, www.maculardegenerationassociation.org, Rescue 33 in Chillicothe, St. Edward Catholic Church or to her beloved EWTN television network, www.ewtn.com.

Along with the family, she would want to extend her gratitude to everyone who visited and cared for her while she remained in her home, especially the past four of her 95 years and at Heartland the past three months.

Maggie touched the hearts of everyone she met with her warmth, love of life, God and family, and will be dearly missed by her family and all of her precious friends, who will no longer need a phone to request a Rosary.
