Jan. 9, 1939 - July 23, 2008 Third Generation Castro Valley, California Native Daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn Duarte. She is survived by her loving children; daughter Evelyn Godinez, son-in-law Daniel Godinez, and son Mark Albiar; grandchildren, Julia Godinez, Emma Rose Godinez, and Jordan Albiar; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Jack Asvitt; nephew John Asvitt; niece, Merilee Malpede; and nephew Gary Duarte. She is also survived by her loving companion of 27 years John Guinee, lifelong friend Joan Stevens and her beloved Doberman, "Pasha." She retired from the Castro Valley School District and then worked as the bookkeeper for All Saints Church until her recent retirement. She was a lifelong member of All Saints Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the evening on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 7pm at All Saints Church, 22824 2nd St., Hayward. Refreshments will be served in the gymnasium following the service. Interment will be the following day at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave., Hayward.
