Birth date and place: February 26, 1870, in Visalia, Tulare County, CA. Death date and place: August 14, 1946, in Ormsby, Carson, NV Edward was the oldest child of Bejamin Franklin Ducker (1844-1902) and Augusta (Woodward) Ducker. Edward married Dollie Bertha Guthrie (1880-1780) on March 3, 1903, in Winnemucca, Humboldt County, NV They were the parents of four children: Helen Claire Ducker (1903-19160, Edward Augustus Ducker (1907-1981), Robert Varian Ducker (1917-1989), and Merion (Ducker) Edwards (1919-1992). He was educated in the public schools of Modesto, CA. Early in his life he became an excellent cowboy and range rider, moving from California to the Nevada ranges at age 17. He remained in Nevada for the rest of his life. He loved the outdoors and remained a sportsman throughout his life, particularly enjoying fishing and deer hunting. He studied law after moving to Winnemucca, NV, and was admitted to the Bar of Nevada in 1902.He was District Attorney of Humboldt County, NV, from 1905 to 1911.1911-1918, district judge in the Sixth Judicial District Court of Nevada.
Elected to the Supreme Court of Nevada in November 1918.He served as Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court from 1921 to 1931.He was successively elected, without opposition, to that office until his death in 1946.Member: American Bar Association, Freemasons, Knights Templar, Royal Arch Masons, Order of the Eastern Star, Knights of Pythias, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
