Mrs. Martha E. Barnard died at Rochester on Sunday afternoon, April 24th. She was the wife of Lorenzo D. Barnard and was married at Leicester, Livingston County in 1881. She was the daughter of Nathaniel and Olive Pollard Duffie, and was born in Covington on December 27, 1857. Besides her husband, L. D. Barnard, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Woodworth of Boston, Massachusetts; Mrs. J. Prentice of Warsaw; also two sisters and one brother, Mrs. May Allen of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. William Littledyke of Perry and Mr. Seeley Duffie of Perry, and four grandchildren. The services were held at the home of Mrs. J. Prentice on Wednesday, April 27th at 2 p.m., Rev. O. C. Baker of the Methodist Church officiating. The interment took place in Maple Grove Cemetery at Gainesville.
