Mrs. Barbara J. Thomas Duncan, 57, of Springfield died at 9:35 a.m. Monday at her residence after a long illness. Mrs. Duncan was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 4, 1928, the daughter of Vern and Cecile McCoy Thomas. She married Ernest L. Duncan in 1952.
A resident of Springfield since 1972, Mrs. Duncan was a supervisor for the Horace Mann Insurance Co. for 12 years.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of Calvary Temple Church.
Surviving are her husband, Ernest L.; three sons; two grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Shirley Morris of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mrs. Patricia Golder and Mrs. Wanda Bragg, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Janet Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Elsa Pack of Reston, Va.; three brothers, Vern Franklin Thomas of Indianapolis, Ind., Russell E. Thomas of Memphis, Tenn., and Duane A. Thomas of Portland, Ore; several nieces and nephews.
Services at Calvary Temple Church, with the Rev. M.C. Johnson officiating. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
