DORIS L. DUNLAP BATTS, 70, of 2530 Sparks, retired machine operator for Hunter Fan, died Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Old Salem Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for 50 years, with burial in National Cemetery. Family Mortuary has charge. She was a past worthy matron of Eureka Chapter 241 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Batts, the widow of Leroy Batts, leaves a daughter, Andrea B. Simmons of Memphis; eight sons, Glenn A. Simmons of Marietta, Ga., Gary Wayne Batts of Mableton, Ga., Myron Ray Batts of Holly Springs, Miss., Gregory V. Batts of Millington, Kevin Maurice Batts of Houston, Texas, Dana Marvell Batts of Byhalia, Miss., and Barry Glenn Jeffries and Ricky Batts, both of Memphis, 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
