On November 2, 1979 she was united in marriage to Thomas Carey in Leavenworth. He survives of the home.
Joyce worked as a dietician at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center in Leavenworth and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Terry Eagles.
Joyce is survived by her husband, son: Mark Peters and his wife Amy of Leavenworth; 2 daughters: Sandra Lennon and her husband Tom of Marco Island, Fl and Melanie Aull and her husband Alex of Lansing; step-son: Steve Carey of Ottawa, KS; step-daughter: Debra Longtin of Hinesville, GA; 2 sisters: Louise Delaney and Carol Slapper both of Leavenworth; 8 granddaughters: Kristina and Jennifer Lennon, Ashley Aull, Courtney Peters, Nicole, Natalie, Samantha and Mallory Scherer; grandson: Ryan Dodd; 3 great-grandchildren
