In the June 4, 1900 census, George, Anna and Ross, all of whom were born in Pa., were living in a rented home in Bell Twp., Avondale, Westmoreland Co., Pa. George & Anna's parents were also born in Pa. George was born in May, 1859 and was working as a labourer at a mill, Anna was born in June of 1860, and Ross was born in March of 1883, and working at a tin mill. George and Anna had had two children, but only Ross was alive by this census.
In the Apr. 19, 1910 census, Ross was 27 yrs. old, living in Avonmore Borough, Westmoreland Co., Pa. with wife Margaret A., age 27, b. in Wales and immigrated to the U.S. in 1902, and two children, son Bosis S.(Voris), age 5, and daughter Lamora (Glenora) P., age 2.
According to his Sept. 12, 1918 WWI Draft Registration card, Ross was a car repairer for the Pacific Electric (also known as the Red Car system - which used streetcars, light rail and buses). He was of medium height, medium build, had blue eyes and brown hair, and was married to Margaret A. Earhart.
According to the Jan. 5, 1920 U.S. Census, he was living at East 59th St., Miramonte Precinct #3, Los Angeles, Ca. with his wife, Margaret, son Voris, age 14, daughter Lamora, age 11, and daughter Martha, age 9. He was working as repairer for the streetcars. Interestingly, half of the men living on his street worked on the streetcars as well, as conductors or blacksmiths.
Ross and Margaret's three children were:
1) Voris S., b. Jan. 3, 1905 in Pa. and d. Dec. 24, 1968 in Los Angeles, Ca.
2) Glenora Pearl, b. Mar. 30, 1908 and d. Jan. 11, 1981. She married Floyd H. Todd, b. 1903 and d. 1989.
3) Martha, born in 1911.
