Mrs. Marion E. Oser, the oldest of six children of Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor, died today at her home at 618 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT. She was 92 years old.
Mrs. Oser was born in Newark, NJ but, grew up in Menlo Park, NJ, where her father had the laboratory from which came the incandescent lamp, the phonograph and scores of other inventions.
She was married in 1894 to Oscar Oser, a German Army officer, whom she met while traveling abroad. She returned to the United States in 1917 and two years later they were divorced.
Mrs. Oser's mother, Mary Stillwell Edison, died in 1884. Her father remaried and when he died in 1931, he left the bulk of his holding, valued at $12 million dollars,to two children from his second marriage.
They were Charles Edison later Secretary of the navy and Governor of NJ, and Theodore M. Edison, both of whom survive. A half sister, Mrs. John E. Sloane, also survives.
Mrs. Oser was a trustee of the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation and an honorary trustee of the Edison Birthplace Association.
Private services were on Monday, April 19, in Norwalk, CT.
