PEGGY ASHE, 81, passed away Friday, July 1, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 28, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri. She married Louis Ashe in 1944, and they moved to Houston with their three daughters in 1952. Peggy retired from H.I.S.D. after 20 years of service at Johnston Junior High. She then joined Louis in their shoe business The French Bootery. She continued working in retail until the age of 79. She was a member of Congregation Emanu El and a life member of Hadassah. Her great happiness came from the love of her family. She was a best friend to each of her three daughters. Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Louis, and by her brother Harold Eisen and her parents Sophie and Issie Eisen. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Cohn and husband Herb, Beverly Ginsburg and husband Jay, Judy Lazor and husband Allan, grandchildren Jason Ginsburg and wife Rebecca, Sarah Ginsburg, Stuart Lazor and Adam Lazor, sister Lillian Sokoloff, aunt Pauline Bovos, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Sunday, July 3, 2005, at 10:30 A.M. at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet. Rabbi Roy Walter and Cantor Vadim Tunitsky officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Emanu El, 1500 Sunset Blvd., Houston, Texas 77005, or to a charity of your choice.
