Ellen J. "Sis" Signorella Chelko, 82, of Natrona Heights, Harrison, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 30, 2005) at home. She had been ill since May. Born Dec. 26, 1922, in Tarentum, she lived in Harrison most of her life. Mrs. Chelko was a 1941 graduate of Freeport High School. She worked at G. C. Murphy in Tarentum for 15 years, the X-ray department at Allegheny Valley Hospital for 10 years, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Chelko was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Worship Site, Natrona Heights. She enjoyed baking, sewing and camping. Survivors include a son, Anthony J. (Patricia) Signorella of Natrona Heights; four daughters, Mimi Errico of Natrona Heights, Alice (Ronald) Todorowski of McDonald, Toni Marie (Robert) McCullough of Cranberry and Lois Jean (James) Meyers of Saxonburg; 12 grandchildren, Michele (Douglas) Burek, Christine (Paul) Roppolo, Meghan McCullough, Michael Errico, Nathaniel (Kerri) Signorella, Mandi (E.J.) Tolentino, James Meyers, Anthony (Chanda) Signorella, Ron Todorowski, Jamie and Jennifer Meyers and Joseph Signorella; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Elcock of Ohio and Richard Elcock of Richmond, Va. Mrs. Chelko was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony J. Signorella Sr., in 1977; her second husband, Joseph Chelko, in 1994; her parents, Fred and Marie McCracken Elcock; three brothers, James, Malcolm and Milliard Elcock; and a sister, Ethel Stark. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 10th Ave. at Corbet St., Tarentum, where a blessing service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Christian Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Natrona Heights. Celebrant will be the Rev. Richard J. Thompson, parochial vicar. Private burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
