Artie passed away at Anaheim General Hospital, 3350 W. Ball Road, Anaheim, California, on Jun 17, 2008. He was then cremated on Aug 22, 2008.

He was originally intered for temporary dispostion at the Mausolium, Corridor L, Crypt 3, Tier E, #85 at Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary, 1702 Farihaven Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705.

On March 2, 2011 Artie was disentered for re-interment at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery and his remains were retrieved by his family on June 8, 2011

On August 8, 2011, he was re-intered at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in section: CC3B, row: 1, niche: 2.

Navy Chaplain (retired) Pastor Richard Huls officiated at Artie's Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery grave side service.
