Joseph Bergier, son of John Bergier and Betsy Mabel Cole, was born in Harrisville, Lewis Co., New York. Joseph married Margaret M Elliott (at age 21) in 1879. Margaret was the daughter of William M Elliott and Sarah Jane Curry of Washington Co, PA who moved to Mitchell County Kansas and then to Phillips County Kansas.

Joseph and Margaret were married in Mitchell County Kansas and made their first home their near Simpson, Kansas. Joesph was a farmer. The first 3 Bergier children were born on the Summit, Cloud County, Kansas Joseph Bergier homestead per Census data: Dora born Nov 1879, Louisa Feb 1881 (died in 1888 and was not recorded on any census), and Joseph "Peter" born Jan 1882.

Louisa was buried on the old Bergier homestead in Idaho next to Silver Creek. It is now called Base Leg Ranch Cemetery or Silver Creek Cemetery. She is the only Bergier buried there alongside - Josephine Sorensen - who owned the property at a later point in time and wanted to be buried there. Joesphine's son is now the current owner of the old Bergier homestead South of Carey Idaho.

Last 3 Bergier children were born on Idaho homestead 7 mi South of Carey (now called Base Leg Ranch - beautiufl property) per Census data: Maud Sep 83, Robert Jun 86, and Fred May 88.

The Bergier's moved from their Idaho property and moved on to Lemoore California where Joseph got into fruit farming and Fred got into cattle ranching.
