Hazel Whitaker Ellison, 93, of Greenville, wife of the late Lewis "Pat" Augustus Ellison, died Sunday, August 6, 2006.

Born July 6, 1913 in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Felix William Whitaker and Estella Goodwin Whitaker.

Mrs. Ellison was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg.

Surviving are three nephews, Bill Watson of Taylors, S.C., Al Watson of Belton, S.C. and J. Floyd Rollins Jr. of Kernersville, N.C.; a great-nephew, Jonathan Watson of Belton, S.C., and a great-niece, Victoria Watson of Belton, S.C.; and other great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Whitaker Rollins and Evelyn Whitaker Watson, and a niece, June R. Bobo.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 2 p.m. in The Mackey Mortuary chapel. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 4006 E. North St., Suite A, Greenville, SC 29615, or the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 East Main St. Spartanburg, 29306.
