Larry Thomas "Tom" Emerson Jr., 54, of Cookeville, TN died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at his residence from a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Tom was born Sept. 14, 1954, in Casper, WY, to the late Larry Thomas Sr. and June Spaulding Emerson.

He was raised in Casper and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1973.

He married Joni Schilling in 1973 and they later divorced.

Mr. Emerson moved to southern California in 1983, and was employed as a machine shop supervisor at Eaton Leonard and McDonald Douglas in 1996, Tom retired from Cybortronics in 2006, and moved to Cookeville, TN, with his wife Linda.

Mr. Emerson loved his family, was a gifted wood-worker, enjoyed traveling and tour-guiding his many friends and family to places special to him.

His family includes his wife, Linda Emerson of Cookeville; a son and daughter-in-law, Justin Thomas and Jen Rodgers of Casper; a daughter, Andrea Lee Rodgers of Salton Sea, CA.; four stepchildren, Thomas and Jeanie Roberts and Kelly and Vandie Roberts, all of Phoenix, AZ, Jason Roberts of Kalaspell, MT, and Janice and Jonathan Taylor of Florida; a brother, Joe Emerson of Casper; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Rick Hamar of Glendo; two nieces, Amy Swofford and Lisa Hamar of Douglas; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Emerson, of Casper.

His final resting place will be beside his mother and brother in Glendo Horseshoe Cemetery in Glendo, WY.
