W. S. ENSLEY DIES; PAST 92 YEARS

William Sherwood Ensley, son of Solomon and Rebecca Ensley, was born August 2, 1861 near the Buchannan School in Illinois and Passed away at a hospital in Fulton, Missouri, November 1, 1953, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 29 days.

He with his parents moved to New Florence, Missouri when he was about 7 years of age.

He was married to Miss Ella E. Cobb, of New Florence, on December 30, 1884, and to this union were born 6 children who survive him, namely - Mrs. Dora Tate of Mexico; Mrs. Dorsey Hill of Bellflower; Roy Ensley of New Truxton; Mrs. Herbert Scott of Montgomery City; William Ensley of New Truxton; and Mrs Joe Stotler of Mexico.

He lived in and around New Florence until after the death of Mrs. Ensley on April 29, 1924; when he made his home with his children until about 5 years ago when he entered the hospital.

He is the last of his family, his father, mother and three sisters having preceded him in death several years ago.

In the days of team and wagon he was known far and near for the moving of picnic accessories and other hauling.

Besides his children he leaves a daughter-in-law; three sons-in-law; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren , nieces, nephews, and a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted by Reb. R. T. Dismuke, of Americus, assisted by Rev. Eldon Smith of Bellflower at 2:30 p. m. on Tuesday, November 3, 1953, at the Baptist Church in New Florence - with interment in the New Florence Cemetery by Hopkins Service.
