Bobby Ray Ethridge, 77, husband 57 years of Sally Tucker Ethridge, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood. Born in Abbeville, he was a son of the late James Alvin, Sr. & Hammie Gentry Ethridge.
Mr. Ethridge was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired after 40 years service in 1994 from the Greenwood Mills-Durst Plant. He was an avid gardener and loved working in the yard. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Ray Ethridge; two brothers, J.A. Ethridge, Jr. & William W. Ethridge, and a sister, Frances E. Clemmons.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Randy M. Ethridge, Abbeville, R. Dale (Carol) Ethridge, Greenville, & Michael D. Ethridge, Abbeville; sisters, Shirley Bulleton of Georgia and Carolyn Wiley of Abbeville; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel, Greenwood, SC, with Rev. James Long officiating.
