Frank Louis Evert, Sr., 91 of rural Dodge, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Parkview Home in Dodge.Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, May 9, 2009, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Rev. Patrick McLaughlin officiated. Burial was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Survivors include children, Frank, Jr. and Bernice, Cheryl and Dave Knievel, and Mark and Diane all of West Point, Bob and Cindy of Dodge, Dianne Evert of Columbus, Gordon and Deb of Lincoln, Mike and Gary Limley and Keith of Omaha; sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Luetta Evert, both of West Point; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Frank was born August 20, 1917 on the farm south of Howells in Colfax County to
Frank and Rose Kovar Evert. He attended country school south of Howells. On
January 6, 1942, Frank married Wilhelmina Martinek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic
Church at Dodge. The couple farmed north of Dodge, retiring in 1999, but
continued to live on the farm until his death. Frank farmed his whole life
except for a few years he did migrant work in Iowa and Minnesota during the
depression. Frank also worked measuring land in the ASCS office and sold seed
corn for several years.
