Mrs. M. Wierda Dies at Age 76

Mrs. Martin Wierda, 76, of Sioux Center died Saturday, April 18.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, 10:30 a.m. in the Central Reformed Church with the Rev, Albert Ten Clay officiating. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

The former Rena Faber was born June 22, 1893 in Sioux Center.

She married Martin Wierda on February 26, 1924 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1965.

Survivors are six sons, Lewis of Morris, George of Sioux City, Thomas of Orange City, Reynold and Marvin of Sioux Center and Bernard of Chicago, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Henry (Delia) Franken, Mrs. John (Martha) G. A. VanRoekel of Sioux Center, Mrs. William (Henrietta) Parsonson of Paramount, Calif., Mrs. Peter (Jane Eva) Duits of Rock Valley and Mrs. Clarence (Myrtle) Kiel of Orange City; a sister, Mrs. Dick W. A. Doornink of Sioux Center; and 34 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
