She was born in Gloversville on November 21, 1920 a daughter of Harry and Edith Dence Fairchild and moved to Broadalbin at age twelve.
Eva attended school in Broadalbin and resided in Hagadorn Mills for twenty years. She was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Chase was employed at the former Diana Knitting Mill in Johnstown. Later, she worked at Key Mark Corp. in Fonda, retiring in 1982.
She was a former member of the Cranberry Creek Community Church, attended the Broadalbin United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Northville Baptist Church.
Eva was a member of the Broadalbin Senior Citizens where she served as president and secretary several years ago.
She loved to follow her late husband when he performed in bands throughout the area. Eva enjoyed traveling, Bingo, and playing cards with her family and friends.
She was married to Arthur Chase on September 30, 1937. He died on March 11, 1969.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Joseph Chase, a daughter, Mary Chase, and a grandson, Marshall Martell.
Survivors include, a daughter, Edith Chase of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Phillip) Frye of Broadalbin, Mark (Tina) Decker of Amsterdam, David Coager of Fultonville, and five other grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, Ryan Frye, Kyle and Jacob Decker, and ten other great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place at the East Galway Cemetery.
