Alpheus Falwell is the believed to be the son of William Falwell (1800 - ?). His mother is unknown at this time.

He married Susan Walker on 12 Feb 1846 in Fluvanna County, Virginia. Four children were known to have been born to this union:

John W. Falwell 1851–
Emily J Falwell 1854–
William S. W. Falwell 1858–

On 17 April 1861 he enlisted in the Confederate Army under Company C, Virginia 19th Infantry Regiment.

William passed away on 15 May 1896, in Louisa, Louisa County, Virginia. His place of burial is unknown.
