Mrs Mary S Blocher, 88, formerly of 4010 West 21st, died Saturday afternoon in a Topeka hospital. She was born February 2, 1870, in Douglas County, and had lived in the Seabrook community over 50 years. Mrs Blocher was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband, the late Noah Blocher, died in 1930. He owned and operated a blacksmith shop in the Seabrook community for many years.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Elizabeth S West, 1828 McAlister; Mrs Florence V Goodman, Prarie Village; Mrs Arnetta L Shorthill, Denver, and Mrs Eva M Baker, 2305 Washburn; a son, Harvey E Blocher, 509 Buchannan; 22 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a brother Charles Falwell, Pierceville. A daughter, Mrs Myrtle M Carson , died in 1947.
Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Services were held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel on April 29, 1958 at 3:30 pm officiated by the Elder R E Lunt of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Interment was made in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
