DAWSON, Doris Field
Long time resident of the Folsom and Orangevale areas since 1920, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2005 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William T. Dawson in 1977, and leaves one sister surviving, Beatrice Howard Bateman. Loving mother to son, Bill Dawson and daughter-in-law Signa of San Francisco, and daughter, Carol Neely and her late husband, Arnie Neely of Echo, Oregon. Grandmother to the Neely clan, Tim and wife Sara, Randy and wife Katie, Robin and husband Cal, and Mindy; great-grandmother to Austin, Lacy, Makayla, Kinley, Dawson and Ty. Doris was an RN for 44 years, graduating from Mercy School of Nursing in 1939. After retirement she volunteered many hours in the medical field. She enjoyed dancing and attending her retired nurses luncheons, but mostly spending time with her large, beloved family. Doris came from a family of seven sisters and two brothers and they were well known in this area as the Field Family. Just recently, she enjoyed herself at the family reunion celebration which was attended by over 100 family members. Doris was blessed with a quick wit, beautiful smile, and an independent and feisty spirit. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. All are warmly invited to join the family in a special service of remembrance on Monday, October 31, 10:00am, Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California.
