Marjorie Walden (Fielding) Balsley, 97, widow of Henry Elwood Balsley, of Staunton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 28, 1919 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Marvin and Nora (Crickenberger) Fielding.

She was a lifelong member of Olivet Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for over 75 years.

Family members include seven children, Philip E. Balsley of Swoope, David M. Balsley and wife, Pat, of Staunton, Gloria B. Lester of Williamsburg, Marvin H. Balsley and wife, Linda, of Fredericksburg, TX, Connie B. Doyle of Staunton, Larry W. Balsley of Staunton, and Alan S. Balsley of Staunton; nine grandchildren, Mark Balsley, Leah Dickens, Joel Balsley, Chris Balsley, Erica Balsley, Shane Doyle, Matt Balsley, Kara Perdue, and Noah Balsley; numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Greg Balsley.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in Olivet Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Lee Thomas. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Harry Hogshead, Ray Leach, Wil Reid, Langdon Reid, D. Reid, Elwood Byrd, David Macmillan.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Olivet Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 1019 Richmond Road, Staunton, VA 24401. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.henryfuneralhome.net.
