Steven was executed in the electric chair for the killing of a Columbus Detective.

He was involved in a Bank Robbery in Columbus Feb 4th 1938, a major gun battle took place in a small rooming house filled with families. Stephen actually didn't fire a shot, but the others did, two robbers died, one Police Officer died, one had to retire, the third was lucky. Columbus Detective Bob Cline. The Robbers were all from Cleveland. One was never identified, just known as "Mac". Bob Cline was a very popular Officer and a former Race Car Driver. I talked to Steve brother in 1990, said his brother got in the wrong crowd, and had been very talented in the arts. Tom Smith Columbus Police Crime Analyst.
