Ms. Atwood was born Jan. 2, 1956, in Boston, Mass. She attended school in Cherry Hill, N.J., and Wayland, Mass. She graduated from Saratoga High School in California and continued her education at West Valley College in Saratoga and San Diego State. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Dia Kippon Printing and Dividend Development in the San Jose area before moving to Alaska. In 1990, Ms. Atwood moved to Big Lake where she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, her children, playing the piano, ice skating, swimming and caring for many animals. Her family said, ''Brenda will be truly missed.''
Ms. Atwood is survived by her three children; parents, Les and Millie Otto; brother, Jeff; aunts, uncles, and many loving friends.
