Madelyn Shepard Babcock, 78, of N. Clinton St. in Dansville passed away late Thursday evening, Jan. 31, 2002 at the Teresa House in Geneseo.
She was born in Conesus on Oct. 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Ira Curtis and Maude VanBuskirk Foote. On July 18, 1959, she married Robert Babcock, who survives. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Shepard in 1958, her stepdaughter Michelle Babcock George and her siblings John Foote and Evelyn Stocking.
Madelyn was employed at Southco, Inc. in Honeoye Falls for 30 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crafting, oil painting and crocheting.
Friends called Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where services were held Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jamie Stevens officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Honeoye.
